Used Cooking Oil for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in India

Sustainable aviation fuel pathways that use HEFA technology need waste lipids such as used cooking oil. Indian UCO will only qualify if origin is traceable. BioTradX records the trade that creates that origin story.

Why traceable UCO is becoming a SAF feedstock, and how Indian kitchens and aggregators should sell used cooking oil with origin data on BioTradX.

Why airlines care about kitchen oil

HEFA-SAF can be produced from waste oils. Europe and other offtake markets reward used cooking oil that is not from high-risk sources. Double-counting and fake UCO have already been a global problem. Traceability is the product.

What this means for an Indian restaurant

You still sell UCO the same way. The difference is that serious buyers will pay more for lots with generator identity, dates, and no mixing with virgin oil. A marketplace record is the cheap way to provide that.

Aggregator discipline

Do not blend unknown drums into a 'SAF grade' tanker. Keep hotel and QSR streams separate from unverified street collection if you want a premium.

Sell traceable UCO on BioTradX

List used cooking oil with business identity and volume history. That is how Indian UCO participates in the SAF feedstock conversation instead of remaining informal waste.
