What EPR changed for used lubricant oil
Producers and importers of base oil and lubrication oil must meet rising recycling targets (starting at 5 percent of prior-year sales in FY 2024-25 and stepping up toward 50 percent by FY 2030-31). Credits come from authorised recycling.
Generators are not the obligated party in the same way producers are, but selling to an unauthorised trader still creates hazardous-waste liability and can block the recycler from issuing valid credits.
Oils typically covered
Engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil, compressor oil, turbine oil, transformer oil (where applicable), cutting oil, and similar used lubricants. Confirm the current CPCB schedule for your product.
How to sell used lubricant oil correctly
Identify monthly generation. Store by type if possible. Use BioTradX to reach recyclers who can show authorisation. Keep invoices, weighment slips, and transporter details for at least the period your EHS policy requires.
Marketplace role
EPR portals track credits. A trade marketplace tracks the physical lot. BioTradX sits on the physical side: listing, matching, and transaction visibility for used lubricant oil.
